Tell me Im crazy

Thanks for the info man. I found the problem. Talked to a few people and shops and they said the guy built the box way to small. Not nearly enough room for the subs to move. They move like theres not much power going to them. The shop I had look at them played with the gains and when they would barely turn the gains up the subs bottomed out every time. They said they arn't wired out of phase. So I think this time I am going ported. Hopefully I can find somewhere that carries a ported box for the 10's. I dont have tools to make a box.

Just don't pay out the *** for a shop to build you one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

By the way, what are the dimensions of your current sealed enclosure?

Couldnt tell you. The guy I had do it did it all in his head. I wasn't told the dimensions. I wont be paying anyone to build me nothing. I dont have anyone else to build me a box. I wont pay a shop they would charge way to much.

ok, just so you know - the subs can be out of phase even if they bottom out and hit hard and such. even in a box that's way too small they should STILL be loud as shit, I know - my friend has them in a tiny box. I really think the guy ****ed up the wiring on them. The only way I know for subs to be moving like crazy and not be loud is to have them out of phase.

Ok you guys were right about the out of the phase in the wiring. He wired it wrong. Connect all the wires right and the thing hurts my ears. However Im going for pure spl so I will find someone to help build a big ported box to take my whole trunk up or I will buy one. They get loud with the bass up on the amp and gain half way. They hit some low notes, but the really low notes they still bottom out. I can tell these have the potential to get really loud. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Glad they're sounding better for you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There are a lot of guys on here that will build you a solid enclosure for far less than the price of what a local shop would charge you. Hell, there might even be someone really close to you.
