Hiya everyone, never posted on here before but I know I need all the help I can get. Ok let me fill you in on my problem.
I recently bought a 2003 Chevy Impala Ls from an impound auction. When I bought the car the cd player had been removed already. After some inspection the factory amplifier was also previously removed. That being said I went out and bought a cheap head unit from Wal-Mart along with proper wiring harness. After connecting the harness I plug in radio and it turns on no problems. A few days later while sitting in a parking lot smoke starts to come out of dash I immediately turn off car. I have someone come take a look at car and it seems the previous owner cut the red wire from the cars wiring and ran it through drivers side dash to the fuse box where it was wrapped around WSW fuse (25 on the fuse if that matters) and shoved fuse back into its place. Immediately that was removed. Now my question is what do I do to make radio work properly and not be a fire hazard? Can I do this myself or should I just take it somewhere?
