Oringally I had my Q in a 2.7^3@32hz box, it got the job done, but I wasn't getting the lows I wanted out of it. So I contacted Pete @ Hexibase and asked him to design me something that was going to give me a flat response with some low end authority. I paid the man and the next day he sent me designs for a transmission line box (T-box):

After the box was made, in my trunk, and getting proper power it was like listening to a completly different sub. The low end is now much more pronounced and the sq is all I could ask for.

Just want to say thanks to cshaw for helping me put this box together, and thanks to Pete for great customer service and a box that I couldn't be happier with.

The plans are vehicle specific.
How does the output change if you moved it more towards the back seat vs the rear of the car?
Here's what Pete said about moving the box forward or backwards in an email

"You can fine tune this enclosure by adjusting the degree of external compression on the woofer. You do this by sliding the enclosure forward and backwards in the trunk to change the distance between the woofer and the rear of the hatch (the woofer and the vent will fire to the rear and be on the passenger side). "

To the ear I think it's louder when the box is as close to the back seats as possible.

OT, but how are those CF mids doin?
For being unamped, they were doing awesome. My truck is torn apart right now because I'm replacing the heater core/blower motor/ac evap. Once thats done, I need to finish up my amp rack, and the boxes for the 18s, and get the suspension upgraded to hold 600 pounds of stereo. The mids will be amped by a US Amps Xterminator 1600.4. Judging by how good they sounded off the deck, I'm sure they'll sound godly off that amp.

Where would you say the output starts to drop off dramatically? (hz wise)

bump for a fellow RSX'R.
I wish I has a type-s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. What size Q?

I dont think it drops off dramitically, just less output to the ear the closer it gets to the rear IMO.

12" Fi Q, just like yours, but no options, just a standard dual 2 ohm, gonna see a rough 700-800 watts of clean rms power. shit i think i could use those plans for the box, since we both have the same car lol.

The box is big and heavy. If you use these plans your not going to have an inch of trunk space lol. But if your willing to do that to your S pm me and we'll talk
