Can anyone explain the differences between the two? I know the black top version was made by cactus and the silver top was made by tc sounds. If I get one or the other reconed for a daily application for music, which would sound better overall (not just one note wonder spl monsters)? I have done a bit of research on them but half of the people swear by the black top while the other half swear by the silver top. I guess I just want a little clarification before I try to get one or the other. Thanks in advance...

The black top have to have a 4-layer coil since it has a fairly small gap. The silver top can fit about any coil you want.

That's the main difference.
