Team Ca.com and another competition question...

I noticed the section title, is there really a Team CA.com? Decals, or t-shirts by chance?

Anyways...say I wanted to start a Car Audio club on my college campus that could evolve into a competition team...where should we start? I dont mean on my campus, dealing with funds and personnel but I mean organization wise. Is there a general preference for SPL competitors? What class would be the best to go for? I think the budjet for student Org's is $3k-$5k; so assume we get the $3k, what class could we easily compete in while not using too much money to meet minimal class requirment, if any....

Any suggestions?

First off, who pays retail? It would hopefully be done with sponsors or with any money from fundraising or our own money....But seriously...

How much does a CRX cost? 1 15" Type-r ~$120, Powerbass 3000 from Tuan was $375, wiring $100 at most, HU $150....dont see where I'd have budget problems...unless I missed something

Wood, time, fiberglass. Rinse, repeat x atleast 20. $20 sheet mdf $30 fiberglass can add up quite quickly. Even at the $2 I pay per sheet, it still adds up considering cost of blades, glue, carpet, saw, another saw, etc, etc.

Look, I have supplies and suppliers, thats not my problem...my original questions were, what organization would be best for a starter group and more specifically, what class.

i hope your not serious... i spent well over 3k for my system and its just a daily driver

although i have out-slammed some people i know that do compete
And I hope YOU're not. Any capable, non-retarded person could compete easily (in SPL comps) with 3 grand.

I think what would best suit you is, what organizations hold competitions worth going to near your area. And if not near your area, hows about somehwere you could drive to. Check out termpro and do some searching in this section to see how many and of what org. comps have been held around your area.

I competed with maybe $1500 in my system thats including all materials and managed to get a 1,2 or 3 trophy at any show i went to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

MECA is without a doubt the best for those who don't wanna spend tons of $... since a low class is legitimately a LOW class.

my setup last year... 2 type R 12's, one orion 2500d... and 4 8v batteries... even buying my blazer everything was under/around 3000. And that of course was a world champ setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Now I spent alot of time on the setup... and coming into teh game as a world champ probably won't happen... but your best shot is in MECA. It also allows for a setup that actually plays music to be very competitive... since you have reality (meter at headrest) and driveby (meter 6 feet from the car)... both of which are low tune friendly formats.... I won MR1 last year playing 36hz, lol.

Go over the rules, drop by the forums... and see what you think.

To really go after dbdrag, iasca, usaci... you have to spend more.
