Let me know if you find anyone following anybody in there.
Yes, I do. Toby following you.

And if Team MD knows what's good for them, they'll yank SBlazer from their team. He'll only give them a bad name...much as he has done to Team Phat Hertz......

I think squeak already knows how the story goes.Honestly, how many times can you post the same dumb story ?
apparantly he doesnt.

At this point its a waste of my time.

:threadloc and let the thread starter post pics and such in a new thread... if he ever comes back.

what really sux about all this shit is i REALLY REALLY love my type-r's.....

but all this bull shit is crazy.........

listen people: the type-r is a good sub. cheap, handles tons of power, gets loud as hell, and sounds good. is it the best sub in the world? hell, no. however, until you get into the $300+ range per driver, they are very difficult to beat.

are tcab boxes all they are hyped to be? lets think about this:

1. i generally build 3-5 custom enclosures a month. prices start at $125. until now, ive done local work, so i havent had to deal with any shipping, but its prob expensive to ship a big box. i know 6 years ago when we were doing virtual tech, it was. so price? a tad too high, but not exorbitantly.

2. performance: no doubt they perform. is it magic? hell no! i would encourage people to experiment. bracing has much to do with it. i know he keeps his tuning freak secret, but cmon, folks. try different tuning. i will say this from yesterdays experience with my type r 12s: mine like 40 hz better than they did 32 or lower. gained 4dbs, too. so, what i will do next weekend is go up 5 more hz and see how that affects my pressure, until i get it dialed in. its all vehicle dependent.

3. hype: this is where all the problem is... alot of people are tired of this because a) they have been around awhile and like their equipment, and b) they feel like tcab is using this forum as a business by continually talking about how much better their enclosures are than everyone elses.

realize, i dont have any problems with anyone here, but ive been around the block a few times and just take everything for what it is.

something for everyone to think about, as far as enclosure design is concerned:

outside of the mechanical orders of resistance placed on any driver, the first order of resistance is AIR. to a speaker, especially a subwoofer that moves alot, air is HEAVY. speaker manufacturers recommend a certain box size, and it is a trade off of performance vs. reliability. however, as long as you keep your vent area proportional to your box volume, youre pretty safe. so, you wanna build a hella loud box? ok, take your recommended specs for box size, double it, and plot out as much vent area as you can while still tuning low enough to sound good., then, and this is important, BRACE THE CORNBREAD HELL OUT OF IT! great boxes all have that in common, and thats where most people screw up, and loose alot of pressure.

thats not all there is to box design, but its a good rule of thumb that will make 99% of the world very happy. if interested, lemme know and i will post a tutorial covering all aspects of good enclosure design. it WILL take a little time, however.

not trying to sound like a know it all, because i dont know it all. but, it sux that more people have never had the chance to build their own box and enjoy the satisfaction of diy.
