TC-9's or w6v2's

This is 02 SENTRA from the East County,Alpine to be exact.My question to a fellow San Diegan is"how you do run the JL w6's with the new 850 Alpine mono amp?I had a mrp-650-m pushing 2 JL 10w3-3-4's ,those are single 4 ohm coils run parallel to see 2 ohms.That is no problem.Aren't the w6's dual 4 ohm and a pair of W6'6 can run on 1 or 8ohm.Alpine amps are not 1 ohm stable,are they?I'm running a mrd-1005 pushing 2-12w-3-3-4 seeing 2 ohms in a vented enclosure.Can you get a W6 to see 2 ohms?I have heard the W6's and they are really nice!!!The new W3's hit good with the mrd-1005.Thanks in advance!02 SENTRA out........................

im only pushing 250 to each amp. the subs cant be set to 2 ohms just the way it is. Alpine isnt a stable amp to push it at 1 ohms. thats why im trying to sell my alpine amp to get a stable 1 ohm amp. Sundown

Personally, I think you'd be foolish to make that change.

TC9's > W6V2 by a fkn mile in terms of SQ and SPL. But you're gonna need to send them at least 800rms.

i've had the rl-p's they get loud and i've heard w6v2's they sound awesome... so IMO RL-p's will get louder then w6's but the w6's will sound much much better then the rl-p's.

Have you even heard a TC9?? I've heard so many W6V2 setups around here. Its a very common subwoofer. Yeah they are great. My little brother bought two 12" TC9's and dropped them in a 1ft^3 sealed and I was amazed. Not that I dont respect your opinion because that is also a big factor. Only other sub I've heard that that could compare SQ wise was the IDMAX. I would have to hear them both side by side to make a judgment on which sounds better.

i dont think you are gonna change his mind just because you think he is wrong man... i like the sq better on the w6's myself, but i would still take a tc9 over it anyday...
