Ready to be someone's monster. Great condition, has a copper lining on the complete length of the T-yoke to help with inductance and let me tell you... this one is holding a very strong charge. Gap will allow for a very thick coil and lots of stroke, a full 8mm wide and 75mm of depth from the bottom of the top plate.

Asking $140 Shipped.

If it would help matters any, I can sell my Ti 3HP instead. Price is the same and I need to keep one of the motors so whichever one sells first...

Thanks, guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've never reconed anything and I can barely afford to replace my xbox.
Say I buy this, what would an appropriate basket cost? How about a recone kit?
It's more about the rarity of the parts rather than the cost of them. Storm and Ti baskets work the best because they have the clearance built into them but they're not always easy to find. You can use normal parts but provisions have to be made to raise the basket.

Over my head since Idk where to look.

I do like looking at the pic of the motor and thinking about how it might sound with the right setup

How it will sound will depend greatly on the soft parts used by the person who builds it. Hopefully it will be slated to be a musical low-end monster (no, 30hz is not low) instead of a one-note fart maker.

I should mention that I have a 12" Storm basket in one of my other F/S threads.

Bump this.

Actually, I mocked it up with the Storm basket and it's not optimal either. Ti's really work the best for this motor without having to do anything besides bolt it up, so I'll have to retract the statement I made a couple posts back.

I don't blame you for wanting a 15" out of this, I would too.

LOL you should know it will not work with a LA basket. Thats how my whole mess with it started. TI BASKET ONLY!! LOL Will fit a big 8layer coil in the gap. Massive BL with this motor. Someone could built a SPL monster with it. Or if you ask Patric at robotunderground real real nice. He has some LMS coils for it!!

You're right, I should have known. It didn't dawn on me until I actually did a mock-up and then I literally said "duh" out loud. You could use a Storm basket if your were determined, you'd just have to raise it up with spacers and it would look a little funny in my opinion. It might be worth it though just to be able to use 10" spiders. Still, the Ti basket is indeed optimal.

I tried my various LMS top assemblies in that motor, Orange. I raised the top assembly up to get the coil in the center of the flux. They did not act the same at all. The 3" LMS coil wants to see a 12mm top plate. I don't think it's any coincidence that the middle section of the LMS coil is also 12mm thick.

Either way, I don't need two of these motors unless they're the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
