what they are saying is it takes more than just the motor to determine what a sub will handle. for instance, if the surround and spiders can't handle 2kwrms then the sub as a whole can't no matter what kinda thermal handling the motor is supposed to endure

You are clearly uneducated about the subject. You're trying to make the subs seem better than they are by inflating their RMS ratings...I had a 15" TC-3000 with quad 1ohm coils, it was rated at 1500 watts. I also got it straight from TC for $400 shipped.

Now if your subs are something other than a normal TC-3000, then let us know. But as it stands, a normal TC-3000 is not rated at 3kw RMS, period.
