Take this Obama-Care " South Dakota Introduces Bill Mandating Gun Ownership"

As a somewhat mocking gesture to ObamaCare, the state of South Dakota has introduced a bill that would require every adult age 21 or older to purchase a firearm.
“The bill, which would take effect Jan. 1, 2012, would give people six months to acquire a firearm after turning 21. The provision does not apply to people who are barred from owning a firearm.”

The purpose of the bill is “to provide for an individual mandate to adult citizens to provide for the self defense of themselves and others.” Makes sense as citizens are the true first responders.

Although the sponsor of the bill, Rep. Hal Wick, R-Sioux Falls, knows it has no chance, but wanted to prove a point that ObamaCare’s individual mandate is unconstitutional. The irony of course is that states are supposed to have more power than the federal government whose jurisdiction is defined and limited. A state can make a much stronger constitutional argument mandating firearm ownership over the federal government mandating health insurance.

If the elites in Washington are allowed to run rampant with powers they don’t possess, why not mandate church on Sunday, or force all progressives to memorize and recite the Bill of Rights every day? Those who believe the federal government should be unlimited in its powers should be careful what they wish for, it could come back to haunt them one day.
Makes perfect sense to me.

I hate both parties, the fact that either side would try to force me to do something is idiotic. Health care reform is a must, but don't force me to buy something. Same thing with firearms, I think everyone (except felons) should be able to own guns, but no one should be told how many or what kind they can own and certainly not be forced to own one. I understand the point they are trying to make, but I hate republicans as much as I do Democrats. I think their should be limits on how much can be spent on campaigning so anyone can afford to run for office. You would see a lot more sensible policies if common people could run, not the elite on the left and right.

If I'm a law abiding citizen I should be able to own a military assault weapon and rocket launchers! I would love a RPG! Just go out in the woods and blow **** up all day long! Take that sapling BA-BOOM! Hey Ficus, BA-BOOM!, Hey hippie, Ba-BOOM!

Don't get me wrong, I am in no way a lover of the tea party, and I lean more left but if I am causing no harm to others the government needs to stay out of my bidness!
