Actually it was more like 7100 watts. Me and Jybfan04 work together, I compared them with the dd's 9910s. To be perfectly honest, at low power the dd's won by a land slide. For two good reasons,
1. These are 4 inch vc which require more power to move
2. The excursion for a 10 is minimal at best because of the 4 inch vc.
HOWEVER, THIS IS A BIG HOWER EVER, the more power I added to the subs the t3 neoes started catching up.
This test was with a single sub set up, and remind you this is also a simple swap test, no tuning involved. I tested them on a pair of sundown 3000Ds. Both subs dual 2.
1. at 2000 watts dd 148, neo 146.5
2. at 4000 watts dd 148.7, noe 147.8
3. at 6000 watts dd 149.8, neo 149.1
4. at 7000 watts dd 150.4, neo 149.9
So as you see, the more power you give these, they began to catch up with the dds. Also, the dd9910s got warm at 7000 watts but the neos stayed cool as a fan with very little venting period!!!! Now why are these being sold, power requirements have been cut in half in the street devision. So apair of these will not do me any good. And if you decide to buy them, they will be more efficient as 15s or 18s not 10s or 12s.
Also remember, power for spl is only 10% of the issue. The other 90% depends on your set up. ASK ANY EXPERT!!! YOU CAN CALL DEMUTH AND ASk HIM!!!
