On that note, have you shipped the damaged amplifier back to me? The address is inside the cover of the manual. I'm very interested to see exactly what that did to the insides. That is such an incredibly strange thing that happened in your car... I've never seen anything like it. Before you do anything with your system you should completely replace that RCA cable since if it had that sort of current on it, it is probably no good anymore. I am using a JVC deck myself... I've had great luck with them ever since the very first car audio CD Deck I purchased used from a friend I've had 4 JVCs since I started doing car audio, 3 of them are still in service that I know of and the 4th went to a guy I never see anymore so it may or may not be. I've also had one Alpine... a 9813 which is also still in service in my old car, which is now owned by my cousin... I am convinced he has spilled at least 5 gallons of soda on it judging by how the interior looks after 2 years of him driving it! The JVC KD-AR8500 was one of the few decks that I could find that wasn't offensively ugly and bling (IMHO)... although the display is a bit much for me and I've been meaning to get around to finding a way to turn off the animations!
