i've been hearing some shady reviews about the sx as of late...did something change? like whats go in on cause i've been looking to get one for about a year and the reviews were outstanding but now people are saying they aren't good? it is starting to concern me...what's goin on?

15" btw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i got 2 15's the other day....i'll let u know how i like them when they're installed....shouldnt be more than a week now.....jus have to finish up the box, do the big 3, and then its install time

Lemans, you know the story by now. Someone pitted an SX against the ever-so-loved Alpine Type R, the Type R posted an insignificantly higher number that wouldn't effect a daily driver in any way, now everyone thinks the SX is some mediocre half sub and not the little brother to the XXX like it really is.

After that certain people think "Gee, I have SXs already on the way! Defying all logic and the incredible number of good reviews - I will mentally list them in the '****' category of subwoofers!!". Not expecting much, they don't put the effort to do a decent install, so the SX ends up sounding like shit, and they post shady reviews.

Watch it happen again with the next forum boner against an otherwise loved sub here on ca.com.

The SX lacks in the SQ but is pretty good in SPL.

As ^^ he posted, peeps just put it up against numbers and then call it crappy if it does not exceed.

Because......c'mon now......RE is god. Why shouldn't it exceed all others?

I'd take an SX over a type R for my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif in the right box it does what it has too. cause one guy got high numbers with a type R in a car doesnt mean they will hit that number in any other car. SX has proved its numbers in multiple cars.

as owner of 2 re sx..i am dissapointed...the sq lacks more than i thought it would and i tryed to build a box tuned low and its even worse....they dont seem to sound any better and they lack hitting the lows like i want......im gunna try a ava. but thats because i want a tru SQL sub no a 7/10 spl sub lik the sx......i havnt had them in ne thing above 35 herts but i bet they can put some good numbers up....

I'm likin my SX quite a bit also, I just think that I may go with some avalanches sealed off sometime in the future because I underestimated how much I really need SQ with metal. The SX does lack somewhat in SQ but I still like it (does get nice and loud though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ). Box is tuned to 32 hz @ 4cuft internal btw.

i notice alot of people put their sx's in a 4 cube ported box even though re recommends 3.5 cubes for SQL....is there a specific reason for this?.....i built my box to RE specs....so i jus wondering why alot of people go bigger

Louder. Supposedly hits the lows better, dunno for sure though because I havent tried it in a 3.5 cube box.

well the box i modeled for myself is 3.6 net tuned to 36, goin for spl mainly because of my "business" and kids around here aren't really interested in sq....thus if it ain't loud, why buy?
