switching the SIM card in cell phones

my friend got a new cell phone the other day and i got his old one, because it is better than the one i got now, but what i was wondering is, does anyone know if when i switched the SIM card, does that mess up the bill anyway or anything like that?

pretty sure the SIM card has all ur info on it, so it shouldnt matter

I switch mine all the time, it doesnt change anything. The only thing you wont have on the sim card is any downloads or phone numbers that were saved to the phone your taking the card out of.

the phone needs to have been running on the same service as you have. if it hasnt it needs to be unlocked
