The whole deck will need to be changed.

Understood, but if I plug a USB plate to my existing brain, than it would have no choice but to read my USB music and play it?

MURPHY are you saying sony isn't any good?

Only real reason I just want to swap the plate, is because it was a pane taking off the panel and putting it back on. N I had a friend hook of the REMOTE wire (which he used some electrical tape) to the back of the deck.. And I wouldnt know how to hook the new trigger wire to the neck deck.

trigger wire? neck deck? i dont even think a new face plate would hook up to that unit if it did it would not read the usb and my bet is that half the buttons wouldnt work if any..
