Curious what kind of loss i would see if i switch from 1 15 to 2 8s? I am currently running a 15" SSA Xcon. Looking to drop down to 2 8's. Hate having no trunk space since the 1 15 is in 4 cubes ported.. I still want to be able to hit the lows, i don't necessarily have to have it as loud as long as it is close. I am looking at sql here. I see some SS orphan 8's for sale and they have peaked my interest. Anyone have any experience with the orphans? Or hell even experience with both xcons and the orphans? Maybe @denim

Just trying to think smaller atm tbh. I have a sa 12d4 that i was running sealed at one point. Think going 2 ported would get me close and still keep some sq?

a 12" will likely get you closer than 2 8s it mostly depends on the sub and box. if dealing with same sub just different size it would be closer with a 12 over 2 8s. could you run the 15 you have sealed? would be most inexpensive way to save space.

I agree, I would try a mean twelve that you could go sealed with. Something that works well in 1 to 1.5 cubes and strooooookes.

I could yes, just hate the fact sub has to be pointed up because of my trunk opening..

I had a rf t2 12 in ported box, got loud and low, even some hated on my choice. I tried a set of skar ma-8's in a ported box, could tell a diff in loud but still gets pretty good on the lows. The amp is saz1500v.3 on 2 ohm load, until i get my lvl4 12. The new vfl 8's might be a choice.

I'm confused now, do you have an XCON or a GCON?
