Hello, I saw someone posted a question wondering how 2 15" subs could have more cone area than 3 12" subs. Here's the answer. Area= pie (3.14)*radius^2 So, 2*15=30 and 3*12=36 is incorrect formula
3.14*®7.5^2= 176.625 *2= 353.25 for Area for 2 15"s
3.14*®6^2= 113.04 *3=339.12 for Area for 3 12"s
The difference is only 14.13, so this amount of surface area isn't much. Depending upon power and SPL rating of the speakers, I don't think you could say one is better than the other. It's personal taste in sound.
