I'm sure he can put something together that will actually stand up to the power.
I would love a honeycomb. Although, I will say this, the cone on this is unbelievably strong. Over-excursion simply tore the foam from stretching it. If I could find a little high-roll rubber surround, I would be inclined to leave the cone in place. So stiff.Honeycomb would be nice and might actually stay together....
Do you have direct access to all parts? I know you recone your own..I would love a honeycomb. Although, I will say this, the cone on this is unbelievably strong. No, I just grab them when I can. Perhaps with TC Sounds opening their doors this December, recones and top assemblies will become plentiful. I could use a few top assemblies myself.Do you have direct access to all parts? I know you recone your own..
I can attest to the motor force. Some drivers you can hold the cone and keep it from moving most of the way but this one moves you instead.I was a HT salesman when these things came out. They say you could take 1 of the little cubes and rest it on the passive, and stand a 150 pound person on the woofer, put sound to it, and it would lift him up. They were absolute beasts.
meeh, I won't be dealing w/TC..No, I just grab them when I can. Perhaps with TC Sounds opening their doors this December, recones and top assemblies will become plentiful. I could use a few top assemblies myself.
That was not Thilo, that whole thread was a troll fest. That's someone who dislikes TC Sounds impersonating Thilo for a laugh and possibly damaging any potential customer relations. I don't agree with a lot of the business practices that TC Sounds resorted to but I'm not going to let that get in the way of enjoying some of the best drivers out there.meeh, I won't be dealing w/TC..
Didn't you see Thilo's post about "you may not even get your sub if you pre-order".. uhh. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Sounds like it should have it's own breaker, LOL.I enjoyed creating brown-outs in my house with it, it was awesome lol. It was fun to put bass music to it, go outside, and watch the electric meter speed/slow down to the beat of the music.
It should, IIRC, the manual says to have upgraded your house electrical to 80 amp service MINIMUM for this thing, you couldnt keep a 30 amp breaker closed on it, thats for sure.Sounds like it should have it's own breaker, LOL.
Interesting. I'm assuming you're referring to this version? It should, IIRC, the manual says to have upgraded your house electrical to 80 amp service MINIMUM for this thing, you couldnt keep a 30 amp breaker closed on it, thats for sure.
