I got a very nice plotter, the summa D60 model, it's a 24 inch plotter/cutter. It's got very little use on it, has been sitting in my living room for about a year and a half. I'm hoping for a local sell, in eastern NC..but will ship, I still have the original box..but this thing will cost a bit to ship it. Was purchased in early 05 for around 2200.00, looking to get 1200.00. Price is negotiable.

Here's information from the summa site on the exact plotter setup i'm selling.

If someone is interested, I will post pics.

price dropped 800.00 local pick up! Will meet for a short (1 - 1 1/2 hour) drive.

I will ship at your expense! should be no more then 100.00 to ship to lower 48.

That's sweet, must be a killer machine.

lilmaniac, it comes with the summa Winplot software, and summa cutter control (which allows you to adjust the settings of the machine via your computer, I think this is the only model with that). You can find used software pretty easily, but brand new for a 'good' program you're looking at 1600-4000.00. I used flexisign 7.5 when I had the shop and the lastest is '8'. If you search ebay you should be able to find a good deal on either one, or there are cheaper ones depending on what you want to be able to do. You can not directly cut from any image unless it's a vector image, like .eps, .ai, etc. It's fairly cheap to find vectored images on discs, and all your custom stuff can be done in the software you chose to purchase and in adobe illustrator, I used AI to hand vector images..but I heard in flexi 8 that this is pretty much done for you automatically. It's a good thing to get into if you know alot of people, the usual mark up is 400% on vinyl stuff.

Yea i used to workin a vinyl shop,we had one that only cut vectors and we had another that could cut direct from a JPEG. The direct from a JPEG one was the coolest thing ive ever seen. I forget what it was called now. Good luck

That was probably an actual vinyl 'printer'..or some really expensive software. Just for a decent printer it'll run your around 15,000..and for a good one is like 30,000+. Crazy expensive.

twas a cutter, only did 1 color at a time. And it had to do with the type of plotter used. Not any plotter will work with that type of input IIRC //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

nah...it wasn't the plotter man, it had to be the 'auto-vector' feature on whatever software was being used. No plotter on the market will cut straight from a jpeg..it's just not 'clean' enough therefore it's impossible to send it unless it's vectored.

dammmmmn. Man if i had the money i'd sure be interested. I'd love to be able to have my own plotter to use without having to sneak out big *** sheets of paper i printed off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

haha, yeah it's an awesome thing to own..if I still had my old software I'd keep this thing. hella fun to work with and create things, and good side money too!
