If you're going to spend that kind of cash (about 300 bucks a pc.) look at Focal or Boston Acoustics maybe. Alpines are nice, however the Type X is really power hungry. I think it's rated at 1000 rms but I've heard of people putting 1500-2000 and taking it like a champ!

Both I would say. I can't really speak from experience. I've only heard em' once. Never owned them. They sounded great! Guy was selling one on Craigslist he just wanted to much for it. 1500 rms should definitely do the trick. I'm kind of a newbie too. So once the "veterans" get on here I'd hear what they have to say. The guys on here seem to like Sundown products a lot. They're made by Sounds Solutions I believe is the company. Go to their website if you want. I don't know how much of what they make is SQ driven however. Another product that is good (that I've owned) is Hertz. Nice stuff! Definitely an SQ sub.

The old school JL W6's I had had to be the cleanest sounding subs I have ever owned, Next to it would be my old school Boston Acoustics Pro LF12.5. Too bad I blew it out :[

But for that kind of power, I heard SSA's ICONS sound pretty clean, but its more of an sql kind of thing.

If I had been thinking correctly, I would have bought atleast one of those 15w6s off of you.

Dont be a douche. Every post ive seen by DoesDad has been him offering positive, and helpful comments. He said it himself, hes newer, everybody makes mistakes.

Does- sundown audio is owned by a gentleman named "jacob fuller". He happens to be a very nice, helpful guy who seems to have a real passion for car audio (a rarity in todays "go for the quick buck" mentality). Very likely the reason you were confused is ssa is a VENDOR for sundown, and maintains a subforum on their forum. Its a very easy mistake to make. Hope that helps.

To the op- the type x really is a very nice driver. If you like it.. Get it. It is worth the money!
