Student Loans

is there a difference with student loan and financial aid or are they considered the same thing? ive heard stories about ppl getting financial aid.. they get like a thousand or two to spend, depening on how many classes they are taking.. and at the end of the year they dont even ask for the money bacc.. why do ppl tell me that, somettimes, they dont even ask for the money bac????
They are different. Financial aid you don't have to pay back.

what did i do to get my post deleted........i just said that i didnt have a trust fund and that i had 2 take out a loan for 4 years.....and i basically only cussed once so whats tha issue.....it wasnt like i was tryin 2 talk bad about him bcuz he had a trust fund
your post was an ******* thing to say. very disrespectful.

first of all im not an ******* nor do i act like an e-*** to people.....i was just stating tha fact that i didnt have a trust fund and tha fact that i wish i did.......there is nothing wrong with having a trust fund nor did i say that something was wrong with using it period....i was just stating the mere fact that i have to take out a few fvckin loans 2 pay for mine

******* that

Depends on where you get the loan from Dustin. Some send a check straigh to your addy, others send it to the university... and then the university cuts you a check for leftover funds after tuition and stuff is paid for (which for you seems like you'd get the entirety of the loan). Regardless, you'll still get it for yourself... it just sucks sometimes to wait for the University refund check.

I recommend shopping around, look for the best rates... and also see if your parent(s) will co-sign... it'll lower the interest rates.

Not exactly true. Loans are a form of financial aid. Saying financial aid is just a broad category, which includes loans, scholarships, grants, etc...

With that said though, you made a good point about stafford loans. As a junior you're allowed $5500 in stafford loans each year. Although with Bush's new proposals the difference isn't much anymore, the interest rate is still slightly lower on stafford loans those from outside lenders. As far as stafford loans are concerned, you're automatically given access to those by filling out FAFSA.

i was saying student loans are a *****....the title says student loans and i started off with ARE A *****...........learn how 2 read b4 u make assumptions on me being an ******* to someone else
you should watch how you speak to people, mainly me. Regardless, what you posted appeared to be disrespectful so i deleted it.

Gotcha...preciate it.

I'm in the process of filling out all the info for FAFSA, which is a pain in the ***. I think I'm going to primarily go for a Stafford loan, if not one dirrectly from Wachovia.
