Ok so i just went on a trip, and i didnt have the system playin the whole time.. but i left the back seats down.. and i noticed my trunk rattles even without the system bumping.. and when i have the system on it rattles alot more then it usually does.. i have been told by a few people that 3m rubber undercoating will help alot to seal the gaps in my trunk lid.. and calm the rattling.. is this true? I've never been a big fan on sound damp. material.. but i cannot stand hearing my trunk rattle like it is.. any advice??

any advice on the most effective way to do this? i went ahead this afternoon and picked up a can, since its not expensive... but i wanted to get some more opinions before spraying my trunk

The product is called Professional Grade Rubberized Undercoating from 3M.

*water and salt resistant

*Deadens Sound

*Use on vehicles underbodies, Wheel wells, Trunks and boat trailers

*PLUS, works great on Gutters, Tree Wounds.

(that was the front of the can)

it looks just like that stuff you would use on walls. depends on how much you put in one spot, it potentially could expand alot and show, but that doesnt matter unless you're showing off your trunk door to everyone.

i really cannot answer that question.. for some reason unexplainably, i just never liked it.. but now it seems like its about to become my best friend.. i was just told you could use this rubberized coating and it would help alot with the rattling, and aparently since others here have heard of it it seems like it might be what to do.. but i beleive i will also fill in the lid braces with great stuff. then ill go over it all a few times with r/u.. is there anything else i can do aside from buying the material for sound deadning?

well thanks for the help. i appriciate it. will post after its done to say whether or not it does any good. friday the weathers supposed to be decent enough to use the spray properly

ok so update on the whole rubberized undercoating bein used for reducing rattles.. its a huge negative.. all it did was make my trunk ugly.. so now i gotta go to my body shop have my trunk and lid sand blasted and re sprayed..
