Steal power from amp?

well, assuming you're running some teeny tiny wire for the processor, no.

By "small" PPI how much power are you dealing with?

Even the smallest of ppi amps is probably going to need 10 ga on its own. What I would probably do in a situation like that is wire the amp as it needs to be, probably with 8 ga wire, and then run some smaller wires (12 ga or so) to the processor.

The amp is a cheap Profile for the rears that will rarely be used. I have 8 guage going to that, and wanted to power the PPI processor from the inputs on the profile,(put the 8 guage and PPI wiring together at the inputs of the amp).

It wouldn't be the cleanest way to go about it, but there shouldn't be any problems. As long as that amp's no bigger than 300w or so, and you can fit some 12-14 ga wire in with the 8 to run to the processor -- it should work fine.
