//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I just bought a '97 Mazda Millenia. It has a factory in-dash AM/FM/Tape/CD player and a trunk-mounted Prestige 6CD changer. I've had absolutely no previous experience with changers so I'm lost.
Here's what happens. I select preset 3 on my radio and turn on the changer. On all positions exept one, there's an irritating static sound which is most profound on bass notes. It is not the speakers because radio, tape and CD all sound great. A friend said to change the station frequency on preset 3 from it's current (98.1) to another one. I tried this and it cut out the changer. I can only hear it through 98.1. I ran a CD laser cleaner through and checked the wires going into the changer itself but no luck. Is it just a case of the previous owner buying a piece of crap from Prestige?
Since I bought my car, I've run into the term "FM Modulated" over and over. Is this the description of the type of changer I have? One that works through an FM frequency? I appreciate any insights anyone may have on how to get this sounding good.
Thanks,
Laughter
