spray paint. i'm pretty handy w/ some spray paint. you have to realize that there is a very fine line between a nice coat, and a huge run. you have to figure out right before the paint starts to run, and that is a perfect coat. i worked at a body shop so i got some practice. but it was $3 a can, the duplicolor car spray paint at walmart. theres not even any clear on it, that cheap paint turned out better than i thought. if you look at the pics of the finished one,you can see in the bottom left of the speaker hole, the fiberglass chipped. today i learned why you take the router to the ring BEFORE the fiberglass is on. i already had it bondo'd and primered when i did this and didn't feel like fixing it that far into it. its barely noticable though.
