Stacking Dynamat

Does it help? I have one layer of E.deadv1 on the bottom and just stacked another layer of dynamat extreme on it and I still get rattles like crazy. Would stacking more help the rattle or would it be the same?

Also anyone have any solutions for stopping the light on the roof liner from rattling? Its mostlying coming from the buttons but the light itself rattles a bit too.

If you've already matted the problem areas, most of the remaining rattling is probobally coming from metal touching metal, or plastic trim panels touching the door. Find out exactly what is causing the rattle and fix through other means.

clear silicone should work but your buttons won't move

It's a game of diminishing returns. Each additional layer has much less affect than the layer before it. I seem to recall hearing that the 2nd layer only adds about a 20-30% increase in damping. 3rd layer adds even less.

You have to remember...you are applying a ton of pressure to the panels of your vehicle. Unless you braced your trunk, you will still have vibration and rattling due to the force being applied to the panels. You will likely never totally eliminate rattling/etc. But the sound deadening helps diminish them.

And, as was mentioned....it could also be from panels vibrating against each other. In which case, adding foam/etc between the panels will help greatly aswell.

Thanks for the help fellas.. Any solutions on my roof lining light without making the buttons stuck? lol
If the buttons are rattling, you could remove the unit and try to glue the buttons back onto their contacts. Or you could simply buy a replacement light.

I shoved some dynamat into the hollow places of the button but they still rattle. Maybe I should down grade to a smaller sub. lol
