Ssa icon vs fi q (10")

Opinions Needed. My brother has dcons and they slam , i have heard btl's and they slam but that is comparing the extreme low end woofer against an extremly high end woofer , there is no contest of who beat who there. but neither of these have been heard by me and i'm interested in the pros and cons of the two.

Gonna run which ever one i choose in a small sealed box off of a aq1200d.

the q has 28mm xmax the icon has 20.5mm xmax. both 1000 rms i would guess the difference in xmax would be noticeable but im a noob so maybe not.

tho the icon looks sexy with triple stack

I've always enjoyed the FI Q but haven't gotten to mess around with the icon.

I really like the Fi Q. I know they get low in a low tuned ported box, but I've never heard one in a sealed box.

I have heard a 12" Q in a ported box and a 15" icon in a ported box as well. I actually built the box for both. Its relatively the same. You will be happy with either. Choose whichever you can get cheaper I guess.

xmax does not play a factor in how loud subs get?

I was talking about sound quality. The Q was a little louder to the ear but it was two different vehicles, boxes, tuning, and sub sizes. I never metered the icon.

It is a win win choice, both the Q and Icon are excellent sub woofers.
