SS RL-s vs RE MX

i got both of my 12's really cheap on the forum. the first one was brand new in the box never used for $390 shipped to me(right after they went through showrides) and then i just got another one that is used but looks brand new all around not even any scrathes on sexy magnet for 290 shipped. even when direct pricing was around it was about 700-720 for 2 shipped to me and i got one brand new and one in perfect condition for $680.
But to the topic.....i love my Mag's. everytime i get in the car it impresses me more and more. i can't wait to get both of them up and running with t he right kind of power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
well 2 - RL-p 15's, brand new = 490 + shipping though.

ya i didn't know how much they were, i knew they were cheaper. i would love to try some RL-p's though. i hear nothing but good things about them.

thats cool i really think im gonna go with 3 rl'p 12s if i can i might try 4 but im kinda liking subs in 3's or odd numbers.......Im secretely competing with one of my friends i dont think he quite knows it yet....One of his systems had 2 Sx 12's w/ 2 hifonics bx1605ds and my system with 3 jlw3's and a hifonics 1205d was actually just as loud 139.1(just because im an a reg cab ranger and he is in a grand am) thats not tha point tho........Now that Re has gone fvcking retatded i think hes goin with 2 15 DD 9500 (i think thats it tha ones that have tha yellow on them) and he was go gonna go with 2 re mt'15s....i just want something thats gonna either beat that or be kinda close.

nG you stand behind the mags that much? how would you guys compare the mags to my 05 xxx or my 05 kicker 15L5's?
Yes.

To date, they are still my favorite "all around" subwoofer.

i trust your word, sir. i will consider them in my next setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Considering you could probably drive to SoundSplinter from NY, pick up 2 RL-P 12s, then drive back, for the "new and improved" price of 1 MX 12, I would say get the RL-P's. But that's just me

iirc the RL-S's are home theatre subs, and unless you have a ton of power and around 10+ cubes it aint worth it.

you sir, don't remember correctly...lol...

i powered the 12" rl-s with 1200rms, in 2.5ft^3 ported, 32in^2 of port tuned to 28hz. it did a 137.9 legal@34hz with the factoty gm head unit which attenuates bass as you turn it up.

to date, there's not a sub on the planet i've had the pleasure of listening too that can touch the rl-s. that includes a 04 xxx, the rl-p, the new magnum, all kicker products, all memphis products, all treo subs, type r,e,and s jsut to name a few. the rl-s gets loud, low and stays insanely clean no matter how loud you crank it.

but for those who think you HAVE to have a huge box and huge power for the rl-s, think again. while it will definitely benefit from more power and more room, it does better then great in a typical "supersub" setup.

and they look better then any sub on the market...cone wise anyway..lol...

as too rl-p vs new magnum= flip a coin. those two subs are extremely close. can't go wrong either way. i guess it boils down to how much you wanna spend and if you just have to have a particular name brand. i'd love to have both, alas, i only have one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

a 137.9 is nothing worth bragging about.IIRC someone on this forum even did a 135 with an RL-i 8 lmao.

I was doing 137.x with a pair of JL 10W0's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif and about 100 watts to each.

I loved all the talk of how it was going to be such a W7 killer when it came out, then it did and it wasn't lmao.

137.9 @ 34hz out of a single 12 isnt too bad in a relatively small box isnt that bad at all. Lol the box was even tuned @ 28Hz. With a different box i'm sure that score could be higher.
