SQ head for a VW MKV. Mac 406, F1, Clarion, Nak??

I've started to put together an SQ system in my 2006 MKV Jetta, my biggest road block is the head-unit. The dash lights are blue and red, and the head itself is double-din +. I would really like to use a McIntosh 406 or 4000, but since it's only a single din unit I'm afraid it won't look good. What options are out there that I'm missing, or what do you think I could integrate into the dash to fill the void (Mac meters possibly)?

Here's a link to some pics of the stereo and the dash to give you an idea of what I'm working with here. Yeah, it's big

BTW, I'm not a fan of Mobile Video... I'm old school, no bling, just good sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

dude the mac will look good in any dash IMO. you just gotta get a double din kit and just use the pocket.

That's the thing, I don't want to just throw a kit in there, especially with a Mac, that'll look cheap. But the hole is so big I don't know what else to do...

For my mkv I use the Eclipse cd7000 with the enfig oem vw install kit. I fit the dash perfect. The texture on the enfig kit is perfect because it is made by vw.

i have a double din screen and i think it looks pretty good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but i have seen kits with the cubby that look good on mkV's too

If you have the $4 fopr any of those units, it shouldt pain you to have a nice trim piece/dashkit glassed for it.

If you go the Nak route, you could buy the indash 6disk changer + an MBX and have 12 disks at your disposal right on your dash;)

I can do all the glass work myself so that's no problem, I just don't want to mold a single din unit into a huge opening....

I like the Nak idea, I didn't even realize they had an in-dash changer. I'll have to check that out.

I'm also considering using the Mac with the meters below the head unit.

Thanks everyone for the ideas.
