Poetic lyrics have nothing to do with SQ. That was only brought up because people are trying to convince us they only listen to rap for the lyrics, not the music/beat/etc. Lyrics with no music... is called peotry. But how many of these rappers are gonna read poetry? Obviously there's more to it than the words, and those people are fooling themselves. There's nothing wrong with liking rap for the heavy bass lines. Hell, I do, for that reason. But I dont go pretending Im in it for the quality acoustical sound either. "Most who listen to mainly rap, though, don't exactly aim for sq when setting up their system. I will give you that" That's my point exactly. If 'most' rap fans aren't in it for the SQ, we can pretty much agree the 'stereotype' that rap cares little for SQ is a fair statement. Are there exceptioons? Yes. But you cant argue against a stereotype when it generally fits. I like alot of rap, you wont find me arguing Im working on acoustical superiority when Im bumping it down the road. I listen to rock n roll, you wont hear me arguing its a genre about love ballads either. If the stereotype fits, wear it. Big deal, ther'es bigger things in life to worry about than you getting your 'SQ respect' over your music preference. You are fighting a losing battle. Cheers.
