Maybe them not being as famous should tell you something. They aren't as famous because most rap fans aren't into rap for the reasons some of you wish us to believe. Im not saying there aren't artistic lyrical rap songs out there, or good sounding (SQ) rap songs, but I AM saying the industry and genre as a whole leans a different direction. Every arguement you guys posts about a few relatively obscure rappers, and your hatred for mainstream rap, only reinforce my arguement. Its like saying Rock n Roll is about love ballads. Are there ballads in RnR? Of course. But no, I wouldn't try to categorize RnR that way just because it contains *some* ballads. The only generalizing Ive really seen here is based on the motives of rap fans. This thread was started to try to clear up the idea that most rap fans aren't interested in SQ. So far, arguements about much less famous rap 'stars' who dont follow the norm, and your disdain for those rappers in the 'top 40' who DO follow the typical rap role/music style does not really support that rap as a whole gives 2 craps about sound quality over quantity.
