spl wise...xxx vs sx

on a hifonics bx2005d in a 3.8cu at 33hz box in a 99 pontiac grand prix gtp, i want more spl than my xxx and i was gonna get the mt in the group buy but its ****in 400$, so i was thinkin if the sx can get louder than my xxx(15) than i could save some cash, but if not, ill just get the mt

wit that power, i'd go for an SX. to me that isnt enuff power to notice a dif from the sx to the XXX. xxx would laugh at that amp, so sx would love the power.

what is it with u and that amp...i think it gives atleast 1800 shit...plus, ive had the xxx for a while and that hand pushes it hard as **** and very nice,,,so maybe u havnt had the encounters with hifonics like ive had but i love em

Off that amount of power I would choose the SX. The XXX is less efficient and most say that the SX is louder than the XXX with a small amount of power.

i had a XXX run off that bx2005d. it did an okay job...you could tell the XXX had more potential.

then i put it on my orion 2500D...and it was a whole other story.

Because they dont do rated power....

Sure the sx might get louder by a db at most from just swapping it out, but its not noticable.

Louder at what? Music, or burping? If you mean music, the XXX will be louder. If you mean burping, well the SX was shown to burp 1-1.5 db's higher than the XXX in David's wall setup, but that does not mean the same results will transfer to your system. If you are burping, toughen up and fork out the cash for an MT or don't bother at all. If you are doing music, stick with the XXX, it will be louder, and sound better.

yes yes for sure.

i had a 12 MT ran off that amp...and it wasn't gettin the power it needed.

Any sub can be used daily. But will it excel at it? While the MT can be run daily, its not what it was designed for, therefore there are bound to be some compromises going with it versus a sub that is meant to play music daily. Just because its the biggest, most expensive sub RE currently makes and "CAN" be played daily does mean its the best choice for a street beater with balls.
