hey guys i have been looking for 20 million years for a sub or pair of subs to match up to my hifonics 1205d. im after like a 75/25 spl/sq mix.. basically i wast it as loud as itll get for 1200 watts while nto sounding too terrible.

paycheck on thursday and i need to narrow down my selection... so here goes

2 12" kicker L5s

2 15" comp VRs

1 15" kicker L7

2 12" alpine type Rs

2 12" pioneer 3004SPLs

1 15" PA MOFO

1 15" RE SX

1 15" SS Rl-P

1 15" Orion H2

and theres more that i just cant think of right now.. im rediculous. i cant decide at all. just help me out. tell me why to buy or not to buy any of these subs. if you have experience with any then post your thoughts. im just about to do a DD SPL system and need some expertise.

well if your looking for 75% spl, and 25% sq, then that automaticly eliminates all the 1 15 setups, because 2 subs will get louder off that 1200watts then one ever will. I would also probably eliminate the 12 alpine type r's, because they wouldnt get as loud as the other dual sub setups you mentioned.

The 2 kicker 15s would probably get the loudest, but it would be close.

i sx 15 would beat all the above

I highly doubt that the sx would be able to beat a 2 12 or 2 15 setup off the same power. It would be loud, but having almost twice the cone area gives you a huge advantage. Ide say for a money standpoint get the pioneers. That may be the loudest of the mentioned, along with the 15s.

im glad you guys are replying i need all the help i can get.

so my top picks so far are probably:

RE SX

2 15 CVRs

1 L7 15

Pioneer SPLs

my best friend has 2 12 L5s so im gonna rule that out just cause i want to be a little original at least.

so out of the four is it pretty much a toss up? does the cone area od the comp VRs give them the edge?

Cone area gives the kicker cvr's, and the pioneer 3004 spls an advantage, and this is why they would both get louder than the sx on 1200watts. I would personally go with the 2 12 pioneer 3004 spls over the kicker cvr's or the 1 sx. Now if you were talking 2 sx's then that would be a different story. Get the 2 pioneers.

i would say the pioneers.....i heard ( this is not from my mouth) that the 2000 series is par with the l5 so i would think ur best bet is those....if not id say the sx....

anybody knw if the pioneers have decent lower extension? those subs are looking liek the best bet i suppose.

The 3004 spls definately hit low. They have a great low end extension, and they can get loud as hell for the price. The 2 of them should do you well. Those things are some beasts too. For the price you cant beat that output.
