The rear mounted Bose amp drives the rear speakers and the front tweeters. The front mids take a signal from these tweeters and amplify the signal again with the amp mounted in each front door. It is a real PITA to work on. Best move you can make is strip the thing and start from scratch. The Bose speakers in the RX8 are for the most part matched to the amp and the front speakers are about 8.25" wide for that matter. No matter which way you turn, a upgrade is not a simple option in this vehicle.</p></blockquote><p></p>
