soundstream xxx6500 blown

here is a guy that i'm going to start using to repair all my old-school amps. it's a really good deal, and the pics of his work look top-knotch. reading through his whole thread, he seems to have proven his worth repeatedly. i bet you could re-coupe the costs of repairing them with the sale of one repaired amp, maybe a little more.....http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifiers/485421-fixing-broken-car-amps.html
Mike has a 6500 of mine right now, he has had it for 2 months and said it would take about a week, and I still don't have it. His communication absolutely *****. I just hope his work is stellar and worth the wait and aggrevation. Just my experiance.

$25 plus parts/shipping........ and he doesn't just fix the one little thing that's broke......like, if a couple power fets are blown, it gets the whole matching bank and resistors, etc.... he runs the entire amp through a bunch of tests before and after....

how much did he charge to fix your 6500?

I don't know about that. I would be intrested in seeing the parts reciept, as I am being invoiced for $180. Or atleast that is what he told me it would cost when he looked at it.

but like I said, I am in hopes that the wait is going to be worth putting up with **** poor communication.

At a glance they look like bad mosfets and resistors ohm out the mosfets and resistors that should give you a start order parts at Allied Electronics try one amp replace the mosfets or transistors in pairs along with the resistors if it woks it might only cost like 20 to 50 and if you could do it to one amp.You could try the othersand make a killing on the amps but its up to you those amps don't look total.Me and my buddy got his off craigslist it went into protect we paid a guy 150 and it was 7 mosfets and the resistors.
