subs with an rms rating of 8500wrms geting half of that?

Can they really take 8500 daily though? Hell...can any sub?

Do you guys really think that the sub can handle +8000w all day long without meeting their Mechanical/Thermal limits? Lol, not even 4000w. Lets keep in mind that he is not burping, Thats his daily/show set up...

I went from two 18" FI BL's (overpowered with 2K each), to two 18" FI BTL's fully loaded(underpowered with the same amp). The difference was definitely noticeable. I mean...I dropped them in the exact same box, using the same amp settings and everything. I did not touch a thing!
When I really cranked the BL's, they started to smell. The BTL's were happy all day pounding. The difference wasn't exactly night and day, but like I said - definitely noticeable. And...the piece of mind that I wouldn't be blowing them was priceless.

I NEVER, EVER smelled coils with the BTL's. -You should be straaaaight! Nice choice of subs. I was never a big MTX fan anyway, lol.

...On a different note- Keep doin' your thang mayne! I've been a fan of the mag since the issue with the beast on the cover (although I haven't been able to find another issue since, lol).

I thought it was cool to see everyday people with everyday installs that I could relate to. The more well-known mags have so many high-dollar installs featured within their pages, and although they're great to look at, I could A.) Never afford half that shit, and B.) Never be talented enough to pull off some of those intricate installs.

So again... glad to see you're pursuing what a lot of us would consider a dream job! Props to you homie!

Thank you very much for your king words, I really don't hear it. I try to show the "real" everyday cars and owners because there is a ton of magazine that do high end stuff. The funny thing is when I do show a guy with a pushed in center dust cap or a panel that align correctly I get emails on why I'm showing love to guys like that but then they send pics of their rides and setup which I can tell you is not any better. exactly, this is a daily street pounder. I think they can take 4000-5000 but 8500 is more for burping. I put both subs side by side and right away you can tell who is daddy even the 9500's look intimadating as well.
