As I understand it, if you order the quad 1.2 coils they come pre assembled but if you order the dual voice coils then some assembly is required.

the xxx-15 only comes in quad vc though....

Correct from the factory new drivers are only available as qvc but you can get dvc or qvc recones from Soundstream.
