Soundstream Rubicon RUB1.1000D OR Powerbass XAX-1200D, which one is the best deal for $160?
Soundstream Specs:
Soundstream RUB1.1600D (rub11600d) 1600W RMS, Rubicon Series
PowerBass Specs:
PowerBass XAX-1200D (xax1200d) 1200W RMS XAX Series Class D
-The Soundstream has 4 40 amp fuses, totaling 160A, times 14v, equals 2240w, times .7 (amplifier efficiency estimation) equals 1568w before them fuses pop.
-The PowerBass has 3 40 amp fuses, totaling 120A, times 14v, equals 1680w, times .85 (efficiency spec from sonic electronix) equals 1428w before amplifier annihilation.
I'm not trying to find an amp with the highest power output for $160, because honestly I don't need any more than 900 watts, it's just that the 900-1000 watt amps I've seen are barely cheaper than these(RUB1.1000D is $140), so I might as well go bigger and have the gain set conservatively.
Which amp are you guys more fond of? Which do you think will last? I've personally never thought of PowerBass as a brand comparable to Soundstream, but I've read that many people disagree with that.
