Ok... so im doing a complete rebuild for my blazer. im still running the Aq HDC3 18. and i sold my planet audio amp yesterday for $200, and im going to picking up a new amp in the next few days.

Now i have a chance to pick a Rubi2500 for $250 from someone which does seem like a good, amp is only like 2 moths and has a sounstream warranty for a year. this build is going to be a daily box that puts up nice TL numbers, better then the previous numbers.

but im just curious if the Rubi's are good as everyone says. i have seen more pros then cons for this

amp......

Opinions & thoughts... thanks

yes, plan on running it close to rms birth rating. other-words, i'm not sure how well it would like running 16v+ and trying to pump another 500 out of it. if i had to guess, i'd say the output section is probably good for 2600rms, give or take, but i'm going off it's little bro (1600) what does the bs rate it at?

I'll be getting a Rub4.600 sometime, we can see how well they last then haha.
I think he means within a decent rms range, and not pushing to much over its rated power?
oh... i dont plan to over work the amp. im going to set it with a multimeter. so i probly wont set it for the 2500rms. i probly set it a lil bit under

not sure havnt seen a birthsheet for them yet... but like above im not going to over work it

well the db drive i just bought ive seen people clamp 2400. called to see who refurbed them and its db drive directly so for 50$ less i would look into them. db drive platnum 2000.1

yes clamped like a burp around 2400rms on the db drives. how ever constantly probly about 1700rms. the rating is 160a(80x2+1 80a on each run of 4 gauge)

i seen the dbs. they are like 230. the rubi's im looking at is only 250

great amps, i had two at first and then put four in my RSX. I MOSTLY ran two @ 1.33 strapped (.67 ea) to three SoundStream SPL-HX12's and I never once had a problem. I will say, with my experience and a couple of others, they may not be as efficient as higher priced and/or quality amps.

fusing is nothing. i know alot of manufactures that under rate fusing to save the amp just like they over rate fusing. look at the bb2400. 250a fuse. does 2k. rubis have never seen over 2.2. ask team th donny about the platnums //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. but i guess you know it all. carry on.

the rubicon from SS factory comes with remote, 250a fuse, and fuse block with 0 in/0 out, all the allen wrenches, screws, all you need. so assume it must pull near the 250, but I use 300a's in my fuse blocks.
