Hey, anyone know what kind of ACTUAL power i can expect from the reference 200s? It is rated at 200x1 at 2ohms, and 12v i am pretty sure. So just the 14.4 should jump it to nearly 300 or more, and i have heard these were quite underrated. Any info??

thanks,

brian

um...i don't have it, i am interested in one and making sure it will give enough power before i buy it. so 11% is just a guess? I don't need it, it just seems cool to be that powerful and that strong.

How much are you getting the amp for? I'm selling my soundstream xstream 720.4 and my xstream 180.2 on a different forum....100 for the first, 50 for the second. I think the Xstream line is higher up than the mentioned.

i just called soundstream, and i am not sure if the guy knew what he was talking about. He said that the ratings in the manual online were done in 14.4 volts and that the amps were not underrated. I have heard nothing about these amps that agrees with that.

In the online manual(p.8), it even shows the standard rating of 25x2 at 12 volts, and how the power increases vastly to 45 x2 at 14.4. That is 1.8 times the amount of power. So if 200x1 is the 12 volt power at 2ohms, then at 14.4 by the same formula, it would be 360X1@14.4 and 2ohms. So if it were not underrated at all, then it would be 360X1 @14.4.

Am i doing this right? it seems logical. Here is the manual:

hmm... i couldn't even find the specs on the soundstream website. ARe these newer? I think the reference line was about as high as soundstreams got.

LOL....if by higher you mean newer, then yes. But the xtream line is inferior to the older reference series. I used to have a reference 700s....loved it and it was definitely underated. There is really noway to give you the actually output unless someone had one bench tested or if soundstream gives birthsheets, which I don't think they do.

so do you think 350-400w is expectable?
