thinking of getting an used unit of this SS Ref. 700s, but i heard lots of people doubting the amplifier's reliability...since the unit i'm going to get is used, anyone here bump into any problem of SS Ref. 700s?

i heard there is a design flaw in this amplifier, just wan to clarify whether its true or just a rumor, since i can't get to test the amp when i buy it, but the seller guarantee not DOA anyway, thus the reliability of this amp seems important to me...

i'm planning to use it to power a single 12inch sub...bridged at 4ohm...any 700s user here? kind to give me some feedbacks?

If it's not too late........the main problem with the Ref series are that they had major overheating issues, which would subsequently damage the amp IIRC. However, from what I've heard, the reason for the issues was corrected, so it only affected the early Ref series amps. Also, since the problem would arise quite early in the amp's life, many of them have already been fixed. Common theory is that, if the amp is working now (being as "old" as it is), then you likely don't have much to worry about cause it's either been already fixed or it was produced after the design change, and hence no longer has the problem.

Never had a problem with mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Maybe Spddracer will hop in here, he's had like 10 of those suckers...
