Soundstream or Mainstream???

I need a quality amplifier that will power all my speakers and 2 12" cerwin vega subwoofers, with power yet quality. I have been looking at a 800 watt Soundstream Tarantula amp and the rockford fosgate S series 750s to 1050s. Soundstream amps are very nice and clean sounding I own one of there new PIC amp and im Very happy with it.

Go with Soundstream. I've only heard 2 of their amps, one of the original Tarantula 2000 watt monters and a four channel Rubicon, and they both sounded fantastic. I'd bet you'd be more than satisifed with a Tarantula

I dont know if you know this or not. Sounstream is now made by pyramid. if they continue to use the soundstream circuits its alright. im not sure if they changed it not. so soundstream is fairly questionable now.

Slaymon I'm not sure where you are getting your information from but Soundstream is owned by PowerAcoustic Inc. and not Pyramid. There products are made in the same plant that it has always been and they have all the same engineers and techs and management. All products are still held to the same quality control standards as they've always been. I talked to the local dealer that was an authorized dealer of Soundstream. He was not selling any items made by Pyramid. Because I asked him how good the new Picasso 880.2 was. He said well I'm not sure because I just got a report from them saying that Pyramid is the new proud owner of Soundstream.

yes alymon is right soundsteam is now owned by pyramid. I would suggest the evermore puwerful jbl 1200.1 amp or a viper 1000d

You're local dealer is sadly misinformed, there was a rumor going around in the business that Pyramid was buying them when in fact it was PowerAcoustic Inc..

Razorback CarAudio is an authorized dealer of Soundstream and buy direct.

Another way to tell when Pyramid buys a company is that they will move all operations of said company to there Brooklyn location and run it from there including all manufacturing, shipping, orderring, phone calls etc.....; Soundstream is still located at 5920 E. The reference amps were made by soundstream...... The name was sold after that.
