New to the forum so hello to all. I have been researching SQ amps for the past few weeks after my beloved PPI PC4100 & 2150's were ripped off. They were great amps and worked flawlessly for over 10 yrs - purchased them in 1998. Anyway, I heard the new PPI stuff is not what it used to be so I'm looking at giving Soundstream a try. Since no one sells any high-end equipment here in Knoxville, TN, I was about to order a few amps from a well-known online store. I called to place an order (and check stock) for an SS Ref4.920 and a Ref1.1000 but the salesman told me that the Ref4.920 had been recalled by SS. I couldn't find anything online to support this claim but why would the guy tell me this and loose a sale? Anyway, I love SQ so I am seriously looking at the Human Reign Unleashed series insted. The "new" version HRU.4 looks nice and does have some great specs but I haven't found any real feedback on what people who have heard it actually think. I hate to drop $1000+ without knowing a little more about the amp. Since I never heard back after emailing Soundstream sales directly, if anyone knows where to purchase WITH a factory warranty, I'd love to know that as well. Any input on this amp would be much appreciated. Thanks.
