something that puzzles me

when i look in the sub section or here in the general section i see alot of threads asking for re cone kits for there RE subs..my question is why do people pay so much for RE if they need reconing alot,you never hear or hardly ever hear people post about needing to recone there jl's,kicker,alpines,infinitys,ss,mag's..and these are subs that cost less..most of them with the exception of 2-3..but still if there durablilty is not what it should be i dont understand why people freak out and try to sell there blood when a RE sub is put up for sale in the clasifieds?

A lot of people use them for SPL competition, which will destroy drivers much faster than daily use. They don't "need" reconing a lot, but if you routinely exceed what the driver's capable of, well, you're going to smoke soft parts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A smaller number of people intentionally blow their subs to get them reconed with different soft parts - changing DCR, spiders, etc.

It's noticeable a lot on here because this forum has had a boner for RE for a while, and they used to actively support the DIY community.
