Something odd.

Today I was just playing my music normal in my car and the woofer cut out. Well, I am at home right now for lunch and checked the woofer. NO scratching, everything sounds fine, coils, fine.

I got to my amp and my power light is red, not the protect light. The whole amp lighs up as it should. What is wrong with this **** thing... All the connections seem fine, ect.

The amp is a Hifonics Brutus BX1500.

Strange... Try disconnecting the battery cable for 10 minuters from the amp and re-conecting it.

To reset the amps protection circut... Basically resetting it. Then try running the amp again... Some amps lock into low ohms and you have to disconect them to reset the to higher ohms. Like my clarion "sets" itself into one ohm mode. If you take the wires off and hook it up to a different load it goes into protection like a ***** etc so you have to reset it.

Worth a shot if you are lost for options.

Check your connections inside your box to your amp?

Just checked the wiring. One of the coils were wired backwards.

How it was wired before.

Coil 2 + (+) Coil 1 + to amp

Coil 1 - (+) Coil 2 - to amp

Re wired to

Coil 2 + (+) Coil 1 + to amp

Coil 2 - (+) Coil 1 - to amp

Now I need a 200amp fuse. It blew during the process. Gay.

Well I ran out got the fuse, re-wired the sub. Clicked it on. Powerlight still on red. The amps in pieces on my counter. What should I look for that may be burnt?

Oh well time to go buy a old school rockford amp.

The funny thing is... I was just playing it normal and wasn't even hot. Just shuts off. What a POS. Gains were below 1/4, no bass boost, crossover app. set. gay gay gay!!!
