I just got these 2 hifonics BRX2400.1d's in for repair. I thought it was very odd that they are NOT the same, but have the exact same model designation.

The one that resembles the Aq2200d is on the bottom.( it is shorter in length)

I think the top amp resembles some version of a sundown 2500d .cant remember which one.

Both look decent/nice to me boardwise.. i like the bottom one better...

Did hifonics see the AQ2200d V's Hifonics BRX2400.1d thread and start making a different version? lol

That's some good info for us guys that like to buy used amps... Thanks for the heads up man !! Looks like bottom amp possibly has a stronger PS. Are the caps rated the same??

What are the measured lengths please??

It is not uncommon for a given amp to undergo a revision or two.

If I were guessing it would be that more often than not any given model will undergo at least ONE revision before it's replaced by a new model.

Some revisions are minor and would probably be difficult to detect. Others are totally obvious.

Reps that are well informed on the technical issues of their products can sometimes fill you in on this information.

so i just watched a video comparing this and the SQ2200. Came down to some of the SQ Caps(i think) having lower heat resistance as well as wattage dissipation. Meaning the SQ amp wouldnt last as long. Something like 3 years vs 10 on the brutus. Anyones opinion on this. They have 99% identical boards.

if your interested.
i jjust caught that this is the brx not the brz. not sure the difference though

There was a massive thread on this. You obviously missed out

You see way more hifonics amps go up in smoke. But there are way more hifonics amps out there and most don't know how to run them. You see a lot of SQ amps running .25ohm and lasting a long time. So which is more abuse? .25ohm or a newb
