guys be smart though.. obviously no chocolate or anything that will melt.. pringles, magazines (car, sports, etc), beef jerk, peanuts, sunflower seeds just whatever you can..

hell i thought all of 1st cav was gone... 2bct 3id is up here in mosul just replaced a brigade of 1st cav up here i dont know if im getting anything but i dont really care either but i did last deployment recieve packages from strangers it was nice so show some support for the holiays its not fun being over here just wishingyou could be home

No 3rd BDE cav is leaving now but 1st BDE dont leave for a few more months man. Im stuck out here at a shitty JSS, nothing like haji net. LOL. Well post your address on here so that hopefully someone will send you a box or two. GL on your deployment. Are you based out of Elpaso as my best friend just deployed to kirkuk from there.

I'm writing this from Bagram right now. You don't have to worry about stuff melting...it's frickin' cold here. Afghanistan is at a rather high altitude..about 1450 meters above sea level here, so it's not a traditional desert, apparently it's pretty comparable to the Reno/Vegas area. Stuff that would be useful for people, especially those at the FOBs (forward operating bases) is stuff like bodywash and shampoo...a lot of hygiene stuff. The PXs here run out of stuff pretty fast. With it getting colder here, blankets probably wouldn't be a bad idea either.

been there and done that. I was at TQ and have just sent some packages to some guys I deployed with the first time and really anytime we got a package it was like christmas. This is a great idea I was going to do something similar best of luck to you all over there

Been to TQ a few time going on leave and what not from Ramadi.

I'm up here in Q west place is decent. The shit they say is true. Got out in June 07 got a fedex package a little while back what do you know I got IRR recalled and am now attached the the National Guard. Being back in the army is nuts. Never thought I would ever see this country again. IRR Leads the Way haha.
