You have to give her a reason to want you to have a loud car audio system.

For instance we have some new neighbors moved in across the street who sit outside almost every weekend blasting Mexican music (tubas and the accordian at 500w of raw flea market power) until 2-4am.

My wife is now pushing me to install my stereo (Zapco z220, USA2300 amps) to "get even with the bastards"!

Suddenly she wants a loud stereo!

Maybe you guys are picking up women in the wrong places. Try and get your game on at places & events where there are girls that appreciate modding & car audio like your local track, HIN, etc.

I hear what you all are saying, this last guy that I was dating wasn't into car audio & seemed to hate loud bass. We were in my car one night & One and Only by Nelly came on my radio, so I cranked it up & he was like "Shit, turn that down it's obnoxious." My girl does not approve of my car audio addiction, and neither does she approve of car modification in general, shes one of those car = appliance(just for getting from A to B) people. She thinks its all pointless and that you are "trying to impress people besides yourself". Ah well. Anyone have a similar plight?

get her a ride in a 600hp car...its not about impressing anyone, its about the sheer joy you get out of the acceleration in something like that. makes you get almost an instant boner.

but aside from the performance side, modification in general, i would agree, is for the most part to look good. but whats the point of looking good if no ones noticing (especially the biatches)

car audio on the other hand, while many do it to impress (which it doesnt, unless you're showing it to someone who has the same hobby), i believe it is more for yourself. i can tell you i dont try to impress anyone with a system, but i sure as hell do miss having at least some god **** bass in the car.

how about you find out what she likes to do with her spare time. then tell her its useless and is not worth doing because of X or Y reasons.
