One question you have to ask yourself. How many heart surgeon opening are out there? Just cuz you attended school and graduated does not mean you will land a job. Reality is few first years out of school you aren't going to get paid 240k. Sorry for sounding negative but expect to land something with less pay right out of school.op, id say go for it if being a heart surgeon is the job you really want to do the rest of your life. think about it, you are going to be making 250k a year, and you have a student loan of 140k, if you can live comfortably at 50k, and not buy anything specatcular for one year, you can pay off your student loans and still have 60k to spend freely.
im sure his uncle will land him a job no problem. One question you have to ask yourself. How many heart surgeon opening are out there? If you just have a bachelors you'd be lucky to get 60k...But once your in, it does increase quickly. I get a % raise every 6 months for the first 2 years (IIRC) then every year after that.thats really good starting out. electrical engineers start out between 50-80k a year and can move up to 150k a year. im going for electrical engineering in circuitry design. 7 year degree.
my dream would be to design circuits for car audio amplifiers, but i know that most likely will not happen. i'd be happy making 80k a year designing something for computers or whatever. If you just have a bachelors you'd be lucky to get 60k...But once your in, it does increase quickly. Now if you get your masters yeah you could probably get 80k right out of school but I'm done with school, I have no interest in pursuing that shiz...
