There aren't many people on here that can produce a meaningful test of one amplifier, much less several.

The overhead for such challenges is so large that it prohibits 99% of all enthusiasts from doing so. That 1% that has the ability to do so will either lack the knowledge to complete an adequate test, or will be limited in the scope that the test can cover at risk of confusing the other 99% who are interested in it.

Great effort by Chad, Loyd, Jim, etc. But I think even they will agree that it was a "challenge".

ummm wasnt the great 12" a big cluster**** of a mess....people were not gettin their subs back for months and last i saw some still never got their equipment back... i would be shocked to see any sort of large scale testing done like that again... it would be nice for them to have done all sizes but at the same time it took so much time and money to pull off with zero return that it became lame for them im sure...

After the Great 12 challenge, I think people will be less apt to send in equipment.

I shall never do another challange again.

I volunteered my home and my vehicles only to be left footing the bill for wood, food, and shipping. I also lost ~$500 dollars worth of tools.

And after all the work we put in ppl still werent greatful.

A side question...when people give you a driver to review...how long do you keep them? This has nothing to do with anything that happened during the great 12 challenge... I know you do many reviews, just curious how long you kept the driver.

It's not as bad as some people are making it out to be. It seemed like a lot of trouble on their part with no reward for their troubles.

1 person was stuck waiting on 3 drivers ( they were broken so it didnt really matter and the owner turned around and sold them and he had more than 5 of each and non of the drivers he sent were NOT able to be reviewed either )

other than that everybody else got there drivers on time.

I keep them as long as i need to test them, most of the time its 1 week, but with my load at school its a little slower this time of year

I had brought up the idea of doing an 18" challenge due to the increased number of 18" subs introduced into the market recently. There was not much response, and as of now I cannot run it because of lack of time and resources to do so.

id offer to test some 18's, but my setup requires two subs and most manufacturers will only send one test model to play with usually.
